40 Marketing Ideas for your Business [INFOGRAPHIC]
February 1, 2018
Below is a great infographic with 40 Marketing Ideas for your business. Here are some of the ones that stand out for me that I think will provide value to your business.
1. Cold Email potential clients
In particular for client services a great outbound marketing strategy to use if you are competing in an overly saturated market. Overly saturated markets can cost a lot of money investing in inbound marketing hoping to drive the client to you but unless you are dominating the market with a superior product or service then some hard yards put into Email to reach out to potential leads can pay off, and best of all its FREE.
2. Narrow your Niche + create a customer avatar
If (and I hope you are) running Facebook advertising, the ability to specify your target market to run your ads to is ridiculous. In saying that, create your customer avatar or persona and be real specific. Take that persona and create an audience on Facebook of all the demographics etc you have described from the persona. Run and test ads to them. You should also tweak a few specifics or your persona and split test ads to optimize the best audience for your product or service.
3. Create a strategic website that works for you 24/7
Google gets over 100 Billion searches a month (Hubspot)
That stat alone should be self explanatory as to why you need a website and why it should be a highly utilized tool in your business. To further back this idea up '81% of Shoppers Conduct Online Research Before Buying' (ADWEEK) If they cant find you online, good luck staying in business in the next few years relying on the 19%, of which is likely to get smaller.
For example you could be closed at 10pm yet a potential customer can still be checking out your product from the comfort of their own home as if they were walking around the bricks and mortar. They then head to your contact page and see the map of where your located and how to get there. They might then see the great content you produce on your site and realise that you are a thought leader (professional) in your industry and that could drive them to come see you in store.
4. Make sure your seen!! Comment on others Blogs, Instagram Feeds + Facebook Groups
A great way to put your name in front of potential customers by engaging with them, providing value to the conversations and in turn there's a good chance they will check you out. Great way to build relationships and once again show that you are a thought leader in your industry. Its all about lead generation.
5. Create a Facebook Business Page
Its a given, If you haven't, you need to.
6. Create a '101' guide for newbies in your industry
Once again this is a great way to show, and promote yourself as a thought leader. Showing professionalism and know-how is a great way to build trust and attract leads.
Even better put it into infographic form and make it quick and easy to consume the content and its bound to have more engagement.
7. Show or talk about work in progress
A great content strategy to lead people in and then keep them engaged as you update the progress. If someone is interested in the start of the project and the vision for the final product, then they are going to engage with you and keep up to date so they can see it through to finish. These leads are quality because if they are interested and stay engaged in the process etc, then there is a good chance of converting them to buy/use.
Example: A builder documenting the process of starting a renovation through to the final product, the people following progress waiting to see how it turns out sees the process, likes what they see, thinks to self I need a renovation done -> Hi, I loved the work you did on da da da... and how quick you completed the job with such professionalism. Can I get a quote for da da da.... There is a good chance that if they know someone after a Reno, they will recommend you also.
8. Host a giveaway
One of my favourites, giveaways are great because, ideally the giveaway is your own product so the cost to you (apart from advertising) is only the cost it took to produce/acquire the product/service. Promote the giveaway on your channels such as Facebook and ask for something small in return like a 'Page Like' or and e-mail address to build a list. Using your own product in the giveaway means you are likely to only attract your target market as well.
How NOT to do it: If you want to build a email list to generate leads and you sell Rugby gear, don't giveaway a $500 Visa gift card which can be used anywhere Visa is accepted because you are then going to get a tonne of people give you their email address to win the Gift Card that will never go near a Rugby field in their life. Instead, maybe an in-store voucher or a pack, head gear, boots, ball etc. Only giveaway something that is going to generate leads from your target market.
These are just 8 of the 40 below that I have shed some light and elaborated on, check out the infographic below for the other great 32 Marketing ideas.
